Shopping

Post by Steve »

Yep, my wife is going shopping with a friend today.
English translation is I'm going to the range. I want to finish trying different ammo with the "Henry Small Game Carbine". Also I would like to shoot the Henry Big Boy 45. The sight on it needs to be proven.

Should be fun, most of it is working from the sand bags.

I wound up putting the guns on the Utility Vehicle and went down by the creek to blast something. I only shot a big ass spider. It was on the crash bars of the vehicle. He was there growling at me for one minute, then he was just a powder burn.

The good news was the city guy I ran into got me permission to shoot ground squirrels at the city park. I will use this CCI Bullet http://www.cci-ammunition.com/products/ ... loadNo=960 shooting will be done during school hours so kids won’t be present. The bullets are available at a couple places locally. So today I am Going to stock up.

I have a letter from the DNR that States I have an ongoing program to get rid of muskrats at the Lagoons. For this at the park I will take a paper from the mayor in our town.

What is there so many of that you will need to be Quietly killed with those CCI Quiet Bullets?

The ground squirrels at the park are not that plentiful, but I am hoping for about a thousand a year with a few left for seed. No need at this time to stockpile 22s the dealers are starting to come back.

It's only 250.

They sound like an air rifle out of my long barrel M60.

Nobody has rimfire within 40 miles. I went to Walmart today for the first time in a couple months and they don't even have an (empty) spot on the shelf any more.

Same here with our WalMars here there was some 22 WMR shot at one of them a couple weeks ago. I was in one yesterday and they had a lot of 17 HMR but no 22 rf. Our local Cabelas has a lot of 22 rf one whole end cap, unfortunately Thunder bolts and Goldens and then another double side display with a variety. I saw Winchester, Elly (actual British Elly) Aquila and Federal and another name I don't remember from Mexico. I'd like to try some Aquila but they only have it in bricks of 500 and that's not try out quantity :( . Discovered that my 22s for the most part like the Federal in the 330 round bulk box an most of the CCI stuff from standard velocity up. The quiet stuff doesn't function the 10-22s or the 15-22, but I may have to try it in the bolt guns or the pistols for squirrel this fall. Time will tell.

Aguila is Mexican and roughly equivalent to Federal bulk. You can get it in any increment of 50 for $0.08 per round from Academy and shipping is free if you spend $25. If you order ten boxes they'll arrive in a sealed brick.
