I own about 6000 cases in .38spl. Half of that was acquired from factory ammo, but the other half is random range brass. I never even considered trimming that! And I never had a problem. Well, that's not exactly true: I found that one specific brand is a bit shorter and causes problems because it doesn't crimp properly. But instead of trimming 5890 cases, I tossed the 110.
