I just got myself a new Glock 26 4th gen and sent about 250 rounds down the range.
I used my 9mm hand loaded ammo: 124grn cast bullet, 4.2 grn HP-38 powder.
This ammo worked very well in my HiPoint C9, however I'm running into these failures in Glock 26:
- failure to eject
- smoke stack
- failure to feed (successful ejection)
- failure to lock slide in open position upon firing last round

All those are at random, from 2 separate magazines.

The last type of failure, occurring most often, leads me to believe that there is not enough force exerted on the slide to push it all the way back. If that is the case, it wold explain the rest of the failures. When manually moving slides of bothe Glock 26 and HiPoint C9, I can tell that it takes more force on the Glock to move all the way back.

So... what are my options:
1. increase HP-38 load to 4.4 grn (max, I believe) but will start dipping into compressed load
2. Use different powder. Have Bullseye, but that calls for similar capacity/volume

Run a few boxes of factory through it to work it in more?

I run 4.6-4.9 Bullseye with my P95 but with plated 115s loaded a little long and it never misses a beat.

I'd sort the brass first .
I worked up a load in Win brass for a 9mm it worked great . I went on a use up the small lots binge and the S&B was trying to flow primers while the Rem cases displayed the behavior you're seeing .
Same everything but the brass .

I sold swapped and gave away everything but the Win and now I have happy 9s .
I kept the Win because it was by far the largest lot size not because of brand or better life or features .

I agree with your conclusion based on not locking back. I also agree with Gas Guzzler. Run some new. I also load 9mm, plated-115gr, 4.6-HP38, no problems. If you have a few 115's try 4.6 HP38.
Other than that, maybe a Glock issue, which I believe is kinda rare! Good Luck!

Don't own a Glock, probably never will. That said every auto loader I've ever bought required a break in period. Any thing from 150 to 500 rounds until felt they were reliable. Then I started with reloads except off course for the rim fires. The one that took 500 rounds was a Kimber 1911 style in 17 Mach II. Run 'em wet and run 'em hard .

Update.
Loaded up 100 rounds with Bullseye at 4.2grn and took also a batch of 100 of the 'old' recipe that was failing on me originally.

Ah, but first.... took apart the Glock, cleaned the slide and all 'user serviceable' parts and re-lubed it with synthetic oil. Immediately, I could tell that the action moved much better.

To the range...
fired 5 rounds of each type of bullet in succession for total of 200 rounds.
Not a single misfeed. Every time on empty, the slide locked open.

Bottom line: cleaning and re-lube of the gun did the trick.

Well done, I have a gen 3 G26 and mine has been flawless I carry it daily. I like full size G17 much better but the baby glock packs a lot of power for its size and is very reliable and easy to carry.
