Loading 380 Auto

Post by Steve »

Loaded four hundred 380 Auto today. Seems like those little 100 gr bullets get harder to hang onto every time I load them. Loadmaster ran like a fine watch, really relaxing.

Dude, you are going to need to become one with the bullet feeder!

I considered a bullet feeder but don't want the setup trouble getting it to work.

You're right about that. I loaded 100 380 Autos up on my turret this morning for some testing with my TCP. I really did not miss the Load Master. I'm thinking that I will sell the three I have and buy another Classic Turret along with the Inline Fab reverse kit for my handgun stuff. That was today, we will see what happens down the road.

I don't look forward to loading .380 as 9mm is already enough of a pain and .380 is even shorter. Someday I'm going to try loading .25 ACP just to say I did it.

Come on guys 380 isn't that bad. I've loaded a couple hundred with no issues. Try loading those Lee TL314-90-SWC sized to .311 and loaded into a 308 Win case.

They are more a PITA to powder coat than load thou.

Best to get grandchildren to reload .380's. Their little fingers can hold the brass better than we can.
I cannot load .38 spec and 9mm on the same day because of the difference in size, my old mind has trouble changing manipulating of these cartridges.
If all else fails--look for the obvious

Wait. What? That works? It's actually accurate enough that it's worth doing it? Load data, please??? +of

All this 380 talk reminds me, I have about five hundred 380 cases left to get primed. That's what I'll get back on while watching TV tonight.

Keep in mind I don't have a crono so none of that info. Also every time I made some to check accuracy my grandson has shown up and shoot them all off at what ever he sees, twice now. caught my Wife giving him the heads up that I had made more so had a little talk with her so next chance I get I'll try 25 yards for accuracy. Keep in mind that is about the limit of this type of round with 3.5 grains of TiteGroup and that little SWC.

Oh and with that load there is zero recoil, even 5 grains is very light recoil.
