I have Ranch Dog's designed 265 and 300gr .432 diameter molds, but have heard the 355gr bullet is even better; therefore, if anyone has a source for one of these molds I would appreciate that information. BTW, my 444 is a Marlin 444P and has the "shorter" throat of those on the market. Thanks

The bullet design has the same "out of case" features of the 300. So, how did that bullet work for you?

Funny that you ask, your 265gr shot much better than the 300gr until I realized (duh!) the short throat on the 444P vice my previous XL. After seating the bullets deeper, they worked fine and I cured the occasional misfire with that load. RD, do you feel the 355gr offers significant improvement for really heavy game (elk, moose, eland, etc) than the 265 & 300gr bullets?

My favorite remains the 265. I have had reports of it taking all NA hoofed game other than mountain goats or sheep. If I where to ever draw a desert bighorn permit here in TX, that is what I would use. Also, it has been used extensively on black bear, but no reports on brown.

Are you trimming your brass back to meet the crimp groove?

No, but I will try that procedure. I do have some brass from factory FTX loads that are shorter I was going to use for .410ga loading that might work?!
