I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your dad.

The move and settling do sound like the making of a great adventure.

"Without trial we cannot learn and grow."

Sounds very New Testament. I'll let someone else quote the verse but it's in there so my input is merely the fact I had my biggest troubles early so I can beat anything.

You can too. Stay strong.

It was entertaining. In like company, it was light musing about what might make most have a melt-down.

Keep chugging, man. Self reliance is a dying art and it is not just about gardening.

I didn't mean to highjack the thread .
Apologies . It just sort of spued out ........
It may have been biblical , I spent a lot of time there with my grandmother until I was 6-7 . Not much time since , more communing than service . Looks like the buyers were half hearted . A few more weeks I'll be able to set up a mill like device and shoot for a winter trip out west .

Hey, I started it - the "highjack," I mean.

I knew about your "adventures" from the only other forum I visit any more. It's a welcome feeling to recognize someone you "know" when you visit an unfamiliar place and then you even treated me like an old friend by sharing.

Can't beat that kind of welcome with a stick.

Definitely not a highjack from where I sit.

Jeff I think that happens more in the smaller forums when I joined CB I think it was "only" about 10,000 and probably about 100-150 Regulars . Now it's pushing 40,000 the Regulars are few and far , outside of the pit .......even that has become so whatever there was just a post about "y'all are going too far you hurt my frying pans feelings and my bricks are crying" .
The smaller places you see the same posters and eventually you have a good success story to share . I don't think it's so intimidating when you look at post counts in low 1000s from 3-4 yr members instead of 10s of 1000s .
We also tend to be more friendly just because there aren't 10,000 and no clicks or that can't be done your cheating etc types . I expect some day it will happen but in the mean we have the coffee club .
