First Powder Coating

Got a new cheap non-convection oven, a cheap digital read out temp probe, and powder/plastic BB's from Smoke on Cast Boolits. I had five GC'd RD .30-30 165s to test that were cast from wheel weights and water dropped a couple years ago. Also had a hand full of air cooled Lee .356 125s I cast last weekend. Seems to work fine. The 9mm bullets aren't scratched up, they're shiny.

Looks good.
I started with the non stick aluminum foil to line the tray, and it worked fairly well. I tried the silicone liners and they worked so well that I went to them exclusively.

Smoke's powders are good. I have had good results with every color and bullet. The oven temp can be finicky in the cheap ovens like mine so I keep an eye on it, otherwise you get melted bases or squished/melted bullets. I like powder coating a lot.

Smoke's powders are really good especially the Clear Powder! That is what I do the majority of my cast bullets in.
The coating is super smooth and covers the best of any other powders I have used ......It is also the easiest power I have ever used

Picture below shows how my Ranch Dog Lee for .30-30 WIN bullets look after powder and GCs installed on my APP. I ran some .357s through the Lee .358" APP sizer and therefore have listed my LAM-II on eBay in a mass lot including the press, dies, punches, PID heater, heater plate, Lee bench plate, and home made bullet lube. The price is high but the machines are bringing a lot by themselves and I have lots thrown in. Now time to stock up on paint powder so I'll never be affected by a shortage.

Lube-A-Matic 2

Uses the same dies and punches as a Lyman.

Thanks. I have a Lyman with a heater and a bunch of dies that I need to do the same.
