My new toy, the Frankford Arsenal Case Trim & Prep Centre

Quick vid of processing 5,56 military brass. Trimming, chamfering & crimp removal

[BBvideo 560,340][/BBvideo]

The set up for trim length is pretty quick, and straight forward.

I had just finished up about 100 pieces of brass, then figured I'd take the quick video, and share it with you guys

I bet it is! These new case prep center are a true up grade to the older methods. I still prefer the Lee case length gauges for trimming. Having all the gizmos all one one small foot print motor driven units not only saves space but is if easier on the fingers and faster! My 6 year old RCBS unit is still chugging along and allows the use of the case length gauges.

Looks good. I'm using the Lyman with Lee Case Trimmers.

I just got one on the way too...new out of box for $108 shipped. It's the platinum like yours that has the length adjustable trimmer.

I finished my long 5.56X45 project after my platinum FA trimmer came in. I got a Lyman 749015571
primer pocket uniformer with my last Brownell's order and tried it last night in place of the primer pocket cleaner the FA unit came with. The brass had already run through my RCBS press mounted pocket swager. I got zero resistance, zero cut, zero change in the 25-30 cases I tried. I'm glad to have the uniformer but for $20 I expected more. I guess that means the RCBS swager does a good job at removing crimps even though the uniformer does more than remove crimps in theory.

In theory it also cuts them to a uniform depth.
I have the Sinclair version for both large and small and when I was competing I did all my primer pockets. Any little thing to get an edge :) Looking back I suspect that it was mostly psychological. I still use them now and then but being hand operated they are rough on the arthritis.

Make smoke.
