My new and hopefully last reloading - casting room

Post by Knighthawk »

Well I finely got my room put together. Hopefully this will be the last move as this is a dedicated room that is secure. Not in the regular shop so you don't walk by with tools or parts from some other project and just set them down on the reloading bench because its there. My reloading bench like most of disorganized re-loaders already has some mess on the bench from reloading projects. It's very problematic to want to use the reloading bench/area for some loading and you find that some lazy guy who shall remain nameless, has dumped unrelated stuff on your loading bench. So you have to clean that junk up before you can clean up the reloading stuff someone forgot to put away. Again, this person shall remain nameless. Another problem is dust from the cut-off saw or the garage door in the summer and some dust blown in.
My old generator room was no long in use, since we got line power. The new Kobota 12 KW is in the main shop next to the service entrance with a transfer switch between the gen-set on the utility. So here's this nice 10 x 12 room doing nothing, and it's a good room as it did not burn down when I had generators in there. Kinda hard to believe with the old Listor's as they would spew fuel (diesels) or oil around from time to time. Found out why the old timers wore coveralls and hats in such rooms. Walk in and the atmosphere is misted with diesel, you suspected there might be a problem that was going to command your attention for awhile.
Well anyway here's a few pictures of my room. Note half the lights are turned off so the picture would not have to much glare.

I'll make one more post with a couple of pictures of bench construction and storage tool boxes.

I could get stuck in that room for days, and not notice how much time has passed! That is a nice arrangement, no matter what has piled up on the counters.

Thanks Larry, I'm just trying to have more time to spend there. Just got the heater hooked up, nice to have a loading room between 50* and 55*, comfortable. Now I can go out there at 4 or 5 when I get up and not have to wait for the room to heat up. Also don't get condensation problems with steady heat.

What I need, besides an applicant to be versed in fence work and tractor operations, is an individual to be a top-shelf bullet caster. That is the one endeavor that I would gladly give up. I do it only to meet an end; I don't enjoy it.

The trouble with bringing Larry here, is we are going to sit around all day laughing at my dog and other stupid stuff.
