Gas' Set Up

Post by GasGuzzler »

Main bench was a craigslist score for $75 (or was that $50 or $80?) complete with lighting (now mounted over bench under shelves) and electrical. It even had a paper towel holder.

The other bench was with the house and was previously retired until I bought my LAM2 and got the new Lee 4-20 I had for over a year out of the box. So now I have a loading area and a bullet making area. My most recent score was the old school steel filing cabinet I brought home FREE and filled with Folgers cans that used to pile up under the main bench.

Looks good, you got a fan for the enclosed space while casting?

Hey, I have one of those tractor sprinklers. I've used that thing for 20 years!

nice setup. what are those boxes with digital read outs? are they specific to casting? also, what is press in the last picture mounted on and why does it have a cable to it. haven't casted (except when fishing), so the answer may be obvious.

I have a ceiling fan in my garage.

I had to replace the transmission in the tractor once. It's about 18 years old.

The boxes are temp controllers. One for the lead and one for a low temp bullet lube heater for the Luber/sizer (green thing). Bruce, I have write-ups on them both at Rossi-Rifleman.

I could link them someday.

Gas,
I had to mention the Jimi Hendrix poster in your work area - I had the exact same one when I was in high school about 35 years ago!!!
Even brought it to college with me, which is where it eventually was lost to oblivion.

Nice loading bench setup, too!

I've had that poster in a frame since 1992. The photo is from the same session as the cover art for the out of production album "Hendrix in the West".....which I have on imported vinyl on the Polydor label.

Nice bench GG.. :t I have that same tool box, at least I still have the bottom part, gave the top to a friend. Those are pretty darn good boxes, better than the Crapsman I replaced them with. Need to replace the clutch in my tractor too. Ugh, gonna put that off as long as possible :x ...So, this looks to be set up for casting now, did you move your reloading presses to the "other" bench or do you switch and swap on this one...?

It's not an official reloading bench without re-purposed coffee containers. Well done.
