As I noted above, I really have haven't had a problem with my Safety Scale and I've had it a long time. By accident, I did notice that an allen wrench under the pan dampened any oscillation like I would experience if I accidentally hit the pan. The wrench isn't magnetized, but it must be some type of field between metals or any static created by the powder. I've left the wrench in place.

I'm guessing you need to add one more word. :D Otherwise we share an opinion on the LSS (mine's long gone).

I put mine back in it's box a few years ago, and there it stays. I use my trusty ole RCBS 10-10 scale with no hassles. I have the equivalent in an ole Lyman, I use as a back up.

I learned to use a slide rule while in the USN doing navagation. As a result I never had a problem using the LSS. I've done several mods over the years but stuffing the base with culled lead bullets and a little epoxy was the best of them.

Gotta try this even though I don't use LSS scale anymore. It was just too slow and a PITA to get adjusted correctly. Those little white lines are for younger eyes. I have an RCBS digital. I feed it groomed power and it is easy to use and very accurate especially if you trickle up to the charge and wait for it to register the increased weight.

I tried the magnet and could hardly believe the difference. Amazing!

Thanks. Love my Safety Scale. Got rid of the Redding but kept the Lyman Pro 1000 for bullet stuff.
