New Bottle Adapter

Post by Ranch Dog »

There has been some discussion about the new "baby" bottle that is part of the multiple purposes on the APPress. One thing I hadn't realized is that it is threaded for powder bottles, and an adaptor is available for your existing powder dispensers. I don't use much powder from 1 lb bottles, but I have enough to give it a try. I ordered a couple from Titan.

That will make for a pretty high stack on the bench. Wonder how this assembly stand up to an accidental bump near the top of the bottle.

Works great. I don't think I would be one to use the jug as I like seeing what the level is, but the clear bottle is a heck of an improvement over the red "pop-a'-top" hopper. I went ahead and order three more to change all my hoppers out. I will wash all of them with Dawn and let them air dry to dissipate the static from manufacture (you can see the powder clinging to the jug). Good work Lee!

A few more pictures from a reloading session for my SMLE Scout 303 British. Absolutely no issue with the bottle adapter on the turret press, slightly lower than the traditional hopper and no top flop if bumped. I reloaded a batch with BPI's Buffer Filler topping the case off to 100% of fill with the bullet seated, Tom Myer's TMT Precision Records software does the calculation on what is needed to do that, using the Deluxe Powder Measure. Lee did well with the Adapter.
