9x80Drilling, I am a member of PondBoss but have always been a reader.

I have discovered with the move that I am a horder when it comes to reloading. I'm going to change that—way too much crap. I had to add a moving van for my room alone! Terrible, and I mean that.

Nothing is going to come into the new room until it is needed. After the first year, anything that did not enter is going to be gone.

That sounds harsh, but sometimes necessary, and often very wise.
I find items, bolts, scraps of metal, oddball tools that I can trace back when I left the farm I grew up on long ago. Often I'm then putting them to good use. A problem with that is that I left the farm, at age 19, in...1969! Yikes! I like to think I'm not a hoarder, I'm able to foresee needing just that special item 50 years from now. Haha.

Part of the problem is that I have multiples of things. I remember buying four bench plates a couple of years ago. I thought briefly that I had already planned and had them but could not find them. Well, I found them.

I'm probably only keeping my 30 Carbine, Rem 600 (35 Rem), Savage 10FCM Scouts (308 Win & 7.62x39), Savage 99s (300 Savage & 308 Win), and the Winchester M94 Timber Scouts (30-30 Win, 35-30, and 44 Mag). The M94s will be the last to go. Not sure about pistols; I have a bunch of them as well. It depends on how much I'm shooting. The last two standing will be my CZ82 (9mm Makarov) and Taurus 745.

The move is heating up. Everything is settled, and at 10 on Friday, I will no longer be a resident of DeWitt County. I don't have a problem with that. I spent yesterday at the new place; I'm looking forward to it. A lot less work, I do want to learn something about growing people food; my whole expertise in making things pop out of the earth is related to deer food. I'm good at that but know nothing of the other.

I have some experience growing small amounts of people food. It is time now to get underway planting some of the stuff that grows slowly from seed such as carrots and lettuce. I use starter plants for tomatoes and peppers so it's early for those. I actually kept my cowhorns from last year. Dug them up and kept them dormant in the garage. It's dirt prep time!

I've been back in the city since 2008, after living in the country for 30 years.

Despite a temp of 17 and windchill of 2 right now in Texas that is expected to DROP the next couple of days, I'm off Monday and plan on doing dirt prep this weekend since I can't play golf. Guess I could start a new topic...

Thank you for the admission. For some crazy reason, I tried to play golf for over 20 years ... then almost 20 years ago realized I can't play golf either!
