I sure hope he's ok also ! Haven't heard anymore.
Slight health set back, I haven't been
fit enough to get across the valley & try to contact his kids
but that is a priority.

Dan " bowtie " ??? You gonna let him get away with that ???

with built in suspenders.

Hmmm. Dunno about that. I got kin in Tejas and they are "normal" (besides being old school Texans, by God) mostly So. of Dallas and some around Mesquite . Ma was Texan, Pa was Okie and I inherited the "best" of both worlds (stubborn, smart and stubborn and have been known to "stretch the truth" once in a while)...

Funny story; I grew up n So. CA and when in my early 20s I visited my cousins in Oakcliff. One Saturday evening we went to "Division Road" in Grand Prairie (a wide avenue with RR tracks running down the middle and one side of the road was dry and the other side was Honky Tonk beer bars almost door to door). Well, being a CA beach city kid I was wearing my Purple T-shirt with flowers on it and tennis shoes. After a few beers one cowboy came up to me and said "I heard there's only cars and ****** in CA, and I don't see no exhaust pipes comin' outta yer ***", to which I replied, "I heard there's only steers and ****** in TX and I don't see no horns comin' outta your head". Don't remember much after that , but I was pretty bruised up and sore the next morning and found sawdust in my hair...

Next to the Fredricksburg area, Cooke County (where I am) has the highest percentage of German ancestry in Texas so the shorts with suspenders and pointy hats as well as bow ties and accordions to which I referred to as common, in fact are.
