In an interesting bit of caliber or cartridge news the folks behind the Desert Ragle have made a new cartridge by necking down a .50AE to .429 so that it can fire .44MAG bullets at very high velocities. Iteresting to note is the long neck on the case to aid in bullet tension. It headspaces on the shoulder.
Ill never own one as im not a fan of anything .44/.429 (and cant afford the platform anyway) but still Prettycool idea, i wonder if itll stick around.
What platforms would you like to see it in?

Re: New Caliber for DEagles: .429 DE
As long as there are shooters, someone will try and come up with the next "New Big Deal, Super Improved" cartridge and one gun that it'll work in. For a new cartridge in one expensive gun, it'll have to darn good, and do something no other round will do, before it becomes popular...

If it weren't for Hollywood, I doubt this gun would ever have sold as many as it has in the USA. I don't like the desert eagle personally. I think it looks cool yet its heavy impractical, but reliable and accurate. More calibers is a good thing for them I think.
