Has anyone noticed that the Breech Lock Pro is now the Pro 4000?

Yeah, using the "baby bottle" that the APP uses. I guess that solves one of the problems noted with the current dispensers, the top being knocked off.

But that price increase appears to be for a complete "kit" form. Still for a bit over 200 bucks it would seem to be a good price.

The Pro 1000 comes in about 20 bucks less. I prefer the Pro 1000 platform much better than the other except for the three vs 4 hole capabilities. Personal opinion but if Lee had been able to use the Pro 1000 setup and just add the fourth hole (as in the turret press) they would have had a much better unit. I may have bought one of those myself instead of a LM, but the "Pro 4000" holds no interest for me at all.

Yeup, I posted something like this over at THR and no one seemed to care.

So does this mean I can start calling the ABLP the Pro4000 or am I going to get heat and yelled at on all the forums? I was using the Pro4000 name until folks had a fit and kept telling me that was the Beta name for the press. I got tired of typing out Auto Breech Lock Pro until everyone started the ABLP.

I also noticed the change to the measure hopper and now see the repair parts for the old Disk measure with the rectangular hopper are NLA. So now I will have to buy an upgrade kit as I have 2 of the old ones.

I still don't think the Pro1000 is going anywhere soon but agree that a change from a 3 station to a 4 station press would have been nice when they upgraded the base even though I did buy a Pro4000. Now I have both and I still like the all metal carrier and the Pro1000 priming much more than the Pro4000.

It looks to me like the name of the press got longer! ;)
Now being the ABLP Pro 4000

Actually, seems to be a Pro 4000 if the combine the press with a die set. Marketing...

I bet you will be able to find what you need on eBay. There are a lot of these hoppers out there.

Guess more to the point is what are we the end users going to call it not what the Official Lee name is. When they first arrived on the scene I was typing out Auto Breech Lock Pro after being told a number of times that Pro4000 was the prototype name. Then finally everyone started calling it the ABLP.

I understood that Pro4000 was the new name for the press when bought as a complete kit like the Pro1000 which the funny thing to me is that Lee still sells the ABLP press as a bare press but they will not do that with the updated Pro1000. I would love to have the new updated frame for my Pro1000
