Lee Loader

I've bought several used RCBS single stages pressed in the last few years. Some of them were in nearly new condition and some needed a little love. It's only now occurring to me that I've never seen a Lee for sale. My cousin picked up an old Lyman turret and I got a good deal on a Lyman 450 lube press. But people seem to hold onto the Classic Cast and the Challenger. I just find that interesting. I'm not saying they are never for sale, I've just never run across them in WTS ads or anything. Just an observation.

They do what is intended they are a very well made and do anything needed. Im sure there is always better. I myself love reddings offerings from dies to powder measures and presses. Just cannot afford them yet.

Molds and dies have been in the S&S section on cast boolits and one 3 hole turret. Is it because they are so inexpensive that it's easier to just keep them when you no longer reload.

Perhaps it's just a "quirk" of Lee users. As long as a good tool isn't broken, use it. The only Lee stuff I've sold was after a nasty divorce when I sold my Lee Challenger, and Lee hand press along with my Redding Boss. All the Lee equipment I own now works quite well and I'm too old to be impressed by tool cost or color...

Selling a press that wouldn't be much more expensive when bought new doesn't make any sense.

There is also the mind set of ''if it costs more to ship it than buy it why not buy it new'' . I don't know that I'd sell an item for $50 that would cost 35 to ship if new in the box were 100, especially tools.

I would certainly buy a 100 dollar tool for 50 bucks if I was in need and someone was offering.

There are tools that I will buy 2dn hand , but I think that $85 for a pre-owned press that is just $100 NIB ....

Ok ya got me , I bought a Load Master w/44 mag dies ,disc measure ,all the dics but w/a damaged case feeder on a Midway stand for $200 . Thinking I'd sell the dies ,press , auto disk and keep the table free......Then O found out they were $400 on a $40 table .......... Had to try it out just once now I'm penny saving for more heads and auto disks. I want to set them up for 38S&W, 9mm ,38/357 amd 40.

I agree its a matter of the new one being so inexpensive. I just picked up a old challenger press for a little over 30 bucks shipped. Really when im done with it I doubt I would bother to sell it for what I could get for it. I mean for 20 bucks in my pocket I would just keep it, or pass it on to a new reloader. But lucky for me not everyone thinks that way.
