Noticing very fine brass shavings on the shell holder and exit ramp of my LCT while loading 9mm, anyone else experienced this? Also noticed slight catch with a click/pop sound when the case is inserted into the powder through expander die, could this be causing this?

The click/pop is the sized case slipping over the expand/bell button . It is possible that the finish of that button is the cause but most of that should fall inside the case as that is where the contact point is .

Have you chamfered and deburred the case mouths ?
Many times cases will have a rough rolled edge that can slough off and cause this .

The debris is more likely from the seat and crimp die specifically the crimp as it rides the OD of the case mouth and any sloughed edges would fall outside the case . Again a rough edge or burr .

The buttons may be cleaned chucked in a drill with 360-400 oiled wet/dry sandpaper and steel wool .
Don't get super agressive with courser grits , the steel is only hard enough to manipulate brass by design not a tool variety.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will clean and polish the dies to see if that alleviates the issue. Do you demurred and chamfer your 9mm brass prior to loading?

deburring and chamfering won't hurt for sure.

Thanks all, I guess you are never too old to learn. looks like in addition to polishing all my dies, I will be adding this step to my 9mm brass prep.

definitely polish the expanding portion of the powder through die. A lot.

After following y’all’s recommendations, chamfer and debarred both 9mm and 45acp brass AND polished dies for both, I am happy to report that I no longer have brass shavings, THANKS to all who replied to my question.
