Lee Loader

I bought another press to replace my Lee Reloader of it's decapping and bullet sizing responsibilities. I purchased it online and didn't pay much attention to the features I wanted it to do. I realized the Summit press wasn't the best choice once it was mounted. But being a cheap ornery cuss I figured out how to get it to cooperate. By adding some PVC pipe fittings it will handle the Lee push thru sizer just fine.



Adding a Lee Primer catcher tubing resolved the other issue of the pathetically undersized primer catcher cup the Summit came with.

Should of got a a Lee classic cast press but I didn't.

Maybe a longer view ? Is it a handle conflict for the sizer hopper?

The PVC pipe extension helps the red sizer container be above pivot lever assembly. This way there is no contact with any part of the press. With the Hornady quick change bushing in place the sized bullets in the PVC portion are contained in between the sizing die and the container until it's flip over and they fall into the container. All in all it is working out very well.

It was a special edition with part of the proceeds going to wounded Vets. Same thing as pictured just the RWB coloring.

At least part was going to a good cause.

A friend of mine is about to buy a new press, and he was very interested in the summit because of its small footprint and massive stem. How are your overall experiences with this press?

I like the coloring, better than the 60's workshop style color RCBS normally uses.

I've now done some full length sizing of 7.62x54R, 30/06, M1 Carbine, 6.5x52 (Carcano). The sizing force is directly over the case so that small footprint is directly under all that pressure, exactly where it needs to be. To be honest I didn't think it would be as solid as it is. It's just like the CO-AX with negligible flex. I'm sure this has to do with the platform on which it is mounted as much as the press itself. Of course a good bench, a solid bench, is important to any press but this is an excellent marriage. It requires the same force to size a case as any other press I have including the CO-AX. I likes the ergonomics of both of these presses which some people don't. But then most people aren't as good looking and sexy as me either. As said I'm not planing on using the press for case sizing or bullet seating just decapping and bullet sizing, but it is a solid non flexing press.
