Pro 4000 Case Slider spits out brass??
Anyone have a solution to the occasional instance where the slider hangs up a tiny bit on the down stroke, then snaps forward shooting the new case across the bench (and occasionally knocking over a case full of powder on the 180 degree side of the shell plate)?

I don't have a P4K but my APP did the same thing. Polishing the parts and adding graphite helped but the real fix was new parts from Lee. The APP was pretty new and they sent the parts for free. I have an entire topic here somewhere.

Fast forward to about 1:50 on this video, I had the same issue and feel this will work on the 4000 as well as the 6000.

Wow! Where can I buy that spring loaded door? That is similar to something I was imagining but thinking I'd have to jerry rig it.

I could also use that on my pro1000s. Is there a supplier, or is it a 3D print?

The guy has a link to purchase but searching videos reveal several home made versions that work well.

Re: Pro 4000 Case Slider spits out brass??
Moved OP's question from a new topic here.kydave19 wrote: ↑01 May 2024 20:11 Dumb newbie question. I see that the spring returns the case slider (after picking up an empty case) back towards the shell plate.
What actuates the movement of the case slider AWAY from the shell plate?
I know it happens (or happened) when the handle moves, but I see no linkage.
Why ask?
My case slider is no longer moving away from the shell plate. I'm dead in the water.
Help!!

Doesn't it have the same system as the 6000?
The collapsed spring acts as a rod and pushes the slider.
