As I'm testing out different loads, I've run into an odd situation.
If I'm looking to change the disk size in my AutoDisk, what is the best way to do so without powder going all over the place?
Here's what I have done.
1. Turn reservoir off.
2. place an empty shell, that's primed, into the powder through die and raise the ram so that powder is dispensed.
3. Pour dispensed powder into reservoir.
4. Repeat 2 and 3 until no further powder is dispensed.
5. Change disk to desired settings.
6. Turn reservoir on.
7. Place the same empty shell into the powder through die until power is dispensed.
8. Continue to do so until powder is at the correct charge by measuring via scale.
9. Proceed to reload.
Is there a better way?

I'd say you have a handle on it. My stand alone disk measure is so old it doesn't have a shut off so if I need to change I have to dump it, change disk and refill. Antique loader, antique equipment but we both still work, just a little slower.

That's the way I used my AD the last time it was uncovered.
I keep a spent primered case at hand for this.

When I am making test loads I use the lee dipper kit and a trickler. For making a few test loads it is faster than the auto disk.

The described way is the only one without spoiled powder I know. I do it the same way.
