Lee Hopper extension

Post by jekemi2005 »

has anyone ever tried to build an extension to the Lee powder measure hopper on either the Auto-Drum or Auto-Disk round, red, plastic hopper. I'd like to add an extension so It could hold more powder but wonder if there is any reason why it can't be done?

The hoppers have a slight tapper to them. I cut the bottom part off a hopper and inserted it into the top of the hopper on the powder measure. Then ran a bead of plastic glue around where they joined. It comes close to doubling the capacity.

Ah youth! When a hopper runs low around here it's time for another cup of coffee or emptying the bladder. ;)

On my pro1000 I'll check every consumable each time I have to refill the case feeder. In .38spl that's about every 80 rounds, in .45ACP it's about every 100 rounds. I then refill the case feeder, refill the primer tray, and refill the powder hopper, no matter if it's empty or not.
