Am I the only one that just picks up the whole turret and turns it upside down to dump the powder? It's pretty easy and the only reason I unscrew it is to swap disks.

I don't unscrew it to swap disks (raise the ram, and pull the lever all the way forward, and the disk slips out to the front), but I don't want to remove the chain for dumping the powder. I like taking off the hopper better.

I use the swivel adapter on both the Auto Disk and Pro Auto Disk. Makes them easy to remove, dump, and use with another set of dies. When I change disks, I take the spring off and slide the disk out and off the front.

The swivel adapter is very useful for setting them up.

Just wondering does the Auto Disk have a off and on position like the Auto Disk Pro?

I just love the swivel adapter since it makes it easy to change what direction the the powder measure faces.

No. I don't use the "on & off" with the Pro Auto Disk as I just loosen the adapter and dump the whole thing as I'm usually done with it if it needs to be dumped. I do use the "on & off" on the Perfect Powder Measure as it must be shut off to lift it off the body to dump.

Repeated the test using Trail Boss this afternoon on the Auto Disk, Pro Auto Disk, and the Perfect Powder Measure. The results all stunk as far as the grain weight consistency is concerned. I really think it is the Trail Boss donut shape that does not lend themselves to being metered. I got tired of all this and loaded up the 218 Bees anyway and went and shot them. They look like raccoon killers to me at 25 yards and I don't think the top of my pecan trees are any higher than that. I will get some loaded up and try to chronograph them tomorrow. I do need to properly sight the rifle in as POI did not equal POA.

I don't think I've shot this Marlin 1894CL in 10 years, shame on me.

All of my pro AutoDisks are equipped with the swivel adaptor, but I don't remove it. The adaptor is used to make the meter face the right direction only. Taking off the hopper is faster and easier for me. I have one pro AutoDisk for each turret, and always try to keep one spare. They're so inexpensive, that's not an issue.

Do you guys use the double disk kit ? What do you do if there is no hole in the disk for the exact charge you want to drop ?

I don't use it.

It's meant for either large charges, or charges in between the fixed cavities. With a double disk kit you can get nearly every 0.1 grain increment, except at the very low or high settings.

I have enlarged the cavities in the disk to get a charge fine tuned.
