The MSDS lists sodium hydroxide as one of the main ingredients.

Ouch, I like using spray cleaners like Gun Scrubber and a tooth brush for most of my dies.

Ouch! Thank you, I was fortunate when using washing soda on magnesium, it just turned it charcoal grey, no physical damage. Learn from others mistakes, you won't live through making them all yourself!

A good friend of mine found out the hard way not to use the purple stuff on his motorcycle wheels, he put a healthy dose on them to soak and went to lunch. When he got back there was very little paint and a lot of ruined aluminum and crust.
